WHAT IS DETOX & REHAB
Addiction recovery is in two parts for most people. A Detox is the first part of the process, where the body detoxifies on a physical level. Some detoxes, such as alcohol, can require specific medications to prevent unwanted cravings, help sleep and anxiety and minimise the side effects of withdrawal. You may need a detox for alcohol rehabilitation, cocaine rehabilitation, stimulants (Ice), cannabis, prescription medication (e.g. benzos) or MDMA and hallucinogenic drug use.
Rehabilitation is the non-physical part of withdrawal, which is a minimum of four weeks and does not require medication. According to industry research, it takes 28 days to change addictive patterns. Full recovery can take several months, however. The best recoveries are usually the longer stays, but everyone is different. As a rule, the more changes you make in your life while you are in a detox centre or rehab centre on the Gold Coast, the less likely you are to relapse.
Short-term drug rehabilitation services and alcohol detoxing are offered in a discreet, confidential location on the Gold Coast.
Gold Coast Detox and Rehabilitation Services also offers offsite services, such as aftercare counselling, family interventions, mentoring, court advocacy, seminars and public speaking. We support and educate clients and peers through workshops, seminars and conferences on health, wellbeing, mental health and addiction.
Our trained social workers, addiction coaches and counsellors work with families and couples to achieve positive outcomes for mental health, stress and addiction. When someone is ready to make a change, we can help.

At Gold Coast Detox and Rehabilitation Services, we are committed to helping you on your journey to recovery. Our therapies are tailored for your specific needs.
Detoxification and rehabilitation are critical components of the journey towards recovery from addiction. Detox is the initial step, allowing individuals to safely manage withdrawal symptoms and rid their bodies of harmful substances. Rehabilitation follows, offering tailored treatment plans designed to address the root causes of addiction. These phases play a crucial role in promoting health and safety by breaking the cycle of substance abuse. By understanding the importance of detox and rehabilitation, we can better support those struggling with addiction, provide them with the help they need and foster healthier, safer communities. Awareness of these processes is a significant step in the fight against addiction’s devastating effects.
Call our detox and rehabilitation centre today on 0476 468 860. In addition to the Gold Coast, we assist patients in Toowoomba, Brisbane, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Gympie, Mackay, Cairns, Townsville and surrounds.
We provide options for drug and alcohol withdrawal to make sure you detox as comfortably as possible. At our private drug and alcohol detox centre, we offer daily counselling with your own addiction specialist, no groups. You are permitted to use your phone, use the internet, have family meet-ups nearby and smoke outside on our verandas. Our service includes airport pickups and transportation.
Our Setting
Some environments are better suited to some people. Doing your rehabilitation in a quiet, private, non-hospital environment may be better for you if you don’t require medical intervention in a clinical setting. We have 1:1 counselling daily to address the underlying causes of your addiction and can facilitate family visits where needed. We provide a confidential retreat-style environment so you can relax and get well. Our warm and caring staff will make sure you feel at home.
Our team consists of addiction counsellors, prescribing practitioners, social workers, support workers, personal trainers, nutritionists, naturopaths and a physical therapy team. We only employ people who love what they do and who maintain sobriety in their personal lives. Our team all have inspirational stories and enjoy rich and fulfilling lives outside work. We offer you mentors who have skills in being sober and living full lives.
Our Values
While we don’t promote AA and other 12-step recovery, we are all well-versed in the AA values and know that peer-support and group therapy approaches don’t work for everyone. We offer an alternative, with no group therapy and focused on 1:1 trauma-informed and person-centred counselling. We have educational classes throughout the week, which can be participatory, or you can just listen in. Our therapists aim to make individual treatment plans with you. However, should you need to share their perspectives with your mental health team, our counsellors specialise in CBT, ACT, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Narrative and Systems-based approaches.
OUR INTAKE PROCESS
The first step is finding a time to speak to our team over the phone for an intake assessment appointment. Our service provides mental health respite, detox and short-term rehabilitation, which is normally between 7-28 days. Based on your needs, our team members will help advise on the right length of stay. Our prescriber will make a time with you if you need medication, which will be organised before your arrival. A doctor’s medical clearance letter is required.
The length of stay depends on the individual’s personal commitments, health, history and finances. The general rule is to aim for the longest rehab stay possible for the best outcomes and to reduce the probability of relapsing.
Court, legal issues and documentation
Gold Coast Detox and Rehab Services does not provide legal advice, but we can assist our clients with documentation and evidence that may support court proceedings, legal requirements, divorce settlement requirements and child custody arrangements.
At the end of your rehab program, we can provide an exit statement from management with the dates, time and nature of your stay, outlining your willingness to participate and complete your drug detox and alcohol rehabilitation services. Our service location is a safe and confidential place to work on legal and family matters in privacy, with the support of our multidisciplinary team.
Our local hair follicle testing service can take samples for your upcoming legal requirements. Hair testing provides three months of drug sampling which is accurate evidence of sobriety in court.
If you need to meet family for scheduled visits, we are happy to escort you to an allocated location for supervised meetings locally. We can support you with:
- Advocacy
- Bail applications
- Court letters
- Supervised visitation
- Family interventions
What if you have underlying issues (pain and mental health) that prevent you from drug withdrawal?
If an underlying pain condition prevents you from considering drug withdrawal, e.g. opioids or cannabis, our prescriber can speak to you about medicinal cannabis (CBD oil). If you have an existing or underlying mental health issue, we can work with your mental health team to manage your sobriety.
Do you provide pickup services?
Distance is no issue, we can pick you up anywhere. Our service is 25 minutes from Coolangatta Airport, 60 minutes from Brisbane Airport and available from Townsville. We can pick you up from any drop-off point and bring you directly.
Can we keep in contact with our friends and family?
What are your fees?
Our daily fee is $1800 per day, all-inclusive, and does not depend on the length of stay or the type of detox you require. We ask that you make your payments in full before arrival, and weekly payments are acceptable if you are not sure. Many clients access early release of superannuation to cover costs, alternatively you can apply with our Medipay & TLC partners for finance.
Our Aftercare Package – $1800 – supports 10 counselling, coaching, and check-in sessions after your departure.
Which rehabilitation facilities should I choose?
If you’re not sure which rehabilitation to choose, give us a call anytime to discuss your options and what your rehab stay would look like, no obligation. If we’re not the right services for you, we can help you find the one that suits your needs.
